The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650 (SKU: LENOVOSR590002) is a 2U rack server built for enterprise and data center workloads. It belongs to the SR600 series and targets virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and database applications.

This platform supports up to 2× Intel Xeon Scalable processors. As a result, it delivers strong compute performance for demanding workloads. In addition, it scales memory up to 7.5TB across 24 DIMM slots using TruDDR4 and Intel Optane persistent memory. This enables efficient handling of memory-intensive applications.

The system provides flexible storage architecture. It supports up to 24× 2.5″ or 14× 3.5″ hot-swappable drive bays. Moreover, it supports NVMe SSDs and AnyBay technology, which allows mixing SAS, SATA, and NVMe drives in the same bays. This improves both performance and deployment flexibility.

For networking, the SR650 supports integrated Ethernet interfaces and scalable expansion via PCIe adapters. It enables connectivity from 1GbE to 10/25/40GbE and beyond. Furthermore, it provides up to 7 PCIe 3.0 slots for I/O expansion and accelerator support.

The SR650 fits enterprise data centers and cloud environments. It works well as a virtualization host, database server, or hyper-converged platform. Additionally, it supports VMware, Hyper-V, and Lenovo XClarity for centralized management.
