Description

The Lenovo ThinkSystem SR658 (SKU: LENOVOSR658002) is a 2U rack server designed for enterprise and data center workloads. It belongs to the SR600 series and targets virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and database environments.

This configuration uses an Intel Xeon Silver 4208 processor with 32GB TruDDR4 memory. As a result, it delivers efficient compute performance for mid-range workloads. In addition, the platform supports up to 2 processors and scales memory up to 7.5TB across 24 DIMM slots. This ensures strong scalability for future growth.

The system provides flexible storage architecture. It supports up to 14× 3.5″ or up to 24× 2.5″ hot-swap drive bays. Moreover, it supports NVMe SSDs and up to 2× M.2 drives for OS boot. This improves both performance and deployment flexibility.

For networking, this SKU includes 4×1GbE interfaces via a 730i adapter. Furthermore, it supports higher-speed connectivity such as 10/25/40GbE through LOM and PCIe expansion. It also provides up to 7 PCIe 3.0 slots for I/O scalability and accelerator support.

The SR658 fits enterprise data centers and cloud deployments. It works well as a virtualization host, database server, or hyper-converged platform. Additionally, it supports technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Lenovo XClarity for centralized management.

For reliability, the system includes a 550W power supply with support for redundant configurations. It also uses hot-swappable components, including drives, fans, and power supplies. Overall, it delivers scalability, flexibility, and high availability in a 2U form factor.
