The Cisco GLC-LH-SMD 1000BASE-LX/LH is a transceiver module that supports both multimode fibre (MMF) and single-mode fibre (SMF) connectivity. Operating at 1310nm, it is designed for Gigabit Ethernet applications requiring longer reach compared to short-wavelength transceivers.
The GLC-LH-SMD SFP transceiver supports up to 550m on MMF and furthermore up to 10km on SMF, making it ideal for building-to-building links and campus backbone links. Additionally, it features Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), allowing real-time checks of optical performance.
