Description
The ASUS ZenWiFi AX Mini (XD4) (SKU: ASUS ZenWiFi AX Mini (XD4)) is a dual-band WiFi 6 mesh system designed for whole-home wireless coverage in residential and small office environments. It delivers seamless connectivity using a distributed mesh architecture, making it suitable for multi-room, multi-floor, and device-dense deployments.
This system operates on the WiFi 6 (802.11ax) standard with combined speeds up to AX1800. It provides up to 1201 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 574 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. As a result, it improves throughput, reduces latency, and enhances network efficiency compared to previous WiFi generations.
The XD4 uses a mesh architecture with one main router node and additional satellite nodes. Therefore, it eliminates dead zones and ensures consistent coverage across large spaces. It can cover up to approximately 4,800 sq. ft. depending on the configuration (single, 2-pack, or 3-pack).
The system supports OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies. As a result, it handles multiple devices simultaneously with improved bandwidth allocation. In addition, it uses beamforming to enhance signal strength and stability across connected clients.
For hardware, each unit includes internal dual-band antennas with a 2×2 MIMO configuration. The main router provides 2× Gigabit Ethernet ports (WAN/LAN), while nodes include a single LAN port. This enables flexible deployment with optional wired backhaul.
The XD4 integrates ASUS AiMesh technology. Therefore, it allows expansion with other compatible ASUS routers to build scalable mesh networks. It also includes AiProtection Classic powered by Trend Micro, which provides network security, threat prevention, and parental controls at no additional cost.
The system fits homes, apartments, and small offices that require consistent wireless coverage. It works well for streaming, remote work, smart home devices, and general internet usage.
