Description

The ASUS DSL-AC56U (SKU: DSL-AC56U) is a dual-band VDSL/ADSL modem router designed for home and small office broadband environments. It integrates DSL modem functionality with wireless routing, making it suitable for ADSL, VDSL, and Ethernet WAN deployments.

This device supports dual-band WiFi 5 (802.11ac) with combined speeds up to AC1200. It delivers up to 867 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 300 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. As a result, it provides balanced wireless performance for streaming, browsing, and multi-device connectivity.

The router supports VDSL2, ADSL2/2+, and ADSL standards. Therefore, it ensures compatibility with a wide range of DSL service providers. It also includes an Ethernet WAN port, which allows it to operate as a standalone wireless router. This improves deployment flexibility across DSL and fiber environments.

For wired connectivity, the DSL-AC56U includes Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and a Gigabit WAN port. In addition, it features USB ports for printer sharing, storage, and 3G/4G dongle support. This enables network storage and backup connectivity options.

The router runs ASUSWRT firmware. As a result, it provides centralized network management, traffic monitoring, and advanced configuration. It also supports VPN server/client functionality, QoS traffic prioritization, and IPv6. Therefore, it enables secure and optimized network operations.

The DSL-AC56U fits residential and SMB environments that require DSL connectivity with higher wireless performance than N-series routers. It works well for multimedia streaming, home offices, and multi-user wireless access.
