WS-C4500X-32SFP+ Overview
The WS-C4500X-32SFP+ is a Cisco Catalyst 4500-X fixed aggregation switch with 32 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+/SFP ports and front-to-back cooling. It is intended for campus network aggregation where rack space is limited and where businesses or integrators need a fixed-platform switch with 1 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface support.
Each SFP+ interface supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 1 Gigabit Ethernet connections, allowing existing 1 Gigabit Ethernet SFP deployments to remain in use while network requirements move to 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The switch has an optional C4KX-NM-8SFP+ expansion module with eight additional 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+/SFP interfaces, plus a 10/100/1000 Base-T management port and a Type A USB port for storage and boot.
The WS-C4500X-32SFP+ provides up to 800 Gbps system throughput, hardware IPv4 routing up to 250 Mpps, hardware IPv6 routing up to 125 Mpps, and Layer 2 bridging up to 250 Mpps. It supports Virtual Switching System (VSS) with up to two switches, up to 1.6 Tbps VSS throughput, and up to eight 1GE or 10GE Virtual Switch Links.
