Ubiquiti EdgeRouter 12 Gigabit Router (ER-12)

Description

The Ubiquiti EdgeRouter 12 (SKU: ER-12) is a high-performance Gigabit router designed for enterprise, SMB, and advanced networking environments. It delivers flexible routing, switching, and security features in a compact desktop form factor.

This router features 10× Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports and 2× Gigabit SFP ports. As a result, it supports high-density wired connectivity for LAN, WAN, and fiber uplink deployments. It also provides hardware-accelerated packet processing, which improves throughput and reduces latency under load.

The ER-12 runs EdgeOS, which supports advanced Layer 3 routing protocols such as static routing, OSPF, BGP, and RIP. Therefore, it enables flexible deployment in enterprise networks, ISP environments, and complex routing topologies.

The device supports configurable PoE output on selected ports. It can provide 24V passive PoE to power compatible Ubiquiti devices such as airMAX radios and access points. As a result, it reduces the need for additional power injectors.

For security and traffic control, the router supports firewall policies, VLAN segmentation, QoS, and VPN services. It also provides both CLI and web-based GUI management. Therefore, it allows precise configuration and centralized monitoring.

The ER-12 includes an integrated switch chip. This enables hardware offloading for switching functions, improving performance for intra-LAN traffic.

The device is designed for desktop deployment with a fanless or low-noise cooling design. It fits office environments, branch networks, and WISP edge deployments.
