The Juniper SRX240 is a compact and versatile services gateway designed for enterprise branch offices, small to medium-sized businesses, and distributed networks. Powered by Junos OS, it integrates firewall, routing, switching, and VPN services into a single platform, enabling secure and reliable connectivity across remote locations.

This 1U rack-mountable device provides 16× Gigabit Ethernet ports for LAN/WAN connectivity and supports up to 4 Mini-PIM slots, allowing flexible WAN interface expansion such as xDSL, serial, or wireless modules. It also supports IPsec VPN, NAT, QoS, and dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP), making it suitable for secure branch-to-HQ connectivity and hybrid WAN deployments.

The SRX240 includes Unified Threat Management (UTM) capabilities such as intrusion prevention (IPS), antivirus, antispam, and web filtering (license required), along with application visibility and control. Its modular architecture and flexible configuration options allow organizations to scale security and networking features based on operational needs.

Although widely deployed in legacy environments, the SRX240 is now considered an end-of-life (EOL) platform and is typically used in lab environments, small deployments, or replaced by newer SRX300-series devices.
