Description
The Juniper QFX5120‑48Y‑AFO is a high‑performance fixed configuration Ethernet switch engineered for data center leaf/spine fabrics, campus distribution, and high‑density aggregation deployments. Powered by Juniper’s Junos OS, this model delivers robust Layer 2 and Layer 3 features — including EVPN‑VXLAN, BGP/OSPF routing, multicast, QoS, and automation — along with deep integration into Juniper Mist Wired Assurance for AI‑driven monitoring, analytics, and simplified operations.
This switch features 48 multispeed SFP28 ports that support 1 GbE, 10 GbE, and 25 GbE connectivity depending on optics installed, providing flexible interfaces for access or server connectivity. In addition, it integrates 8× QSFP28 ports configurable as 40 GbE or 100 GbE uplinks (or breakouts to multiple 25 GbE links) for high‑capacity spine or core interconnects. With up to 4 Tbps bidirectional switching capacity and very low latency, the QFX5120‑48Y‑AFO is capable of handling demanding east‑west traffic patterns found in modern fabrics.
The AFO variant is optimized with front‑to‑back airflow for efficient thermal performance in rack environments following hot‑aisle/cold‑aisle cooling designs. Redundant hot‑swappable power supplies and fans ensure reliability and uptime in mission‑critical infrastructures.
Key Features:
• 48× multispeed SFP28 ports supporting 1/10/25 GbE interfaces for flexible access and uplinks.
• 8× QSFP28 ports configurable as 40 GbE/100 GbE or broken out to multiple 25 GbE links.
• High‑performance up to 4 Tbps bidirectional switching capacity with low latency performance.
• Junos OS with full Layer 2/3 features, EVPN‑VXLAN, automation, and telemetry support.
• AI‑Driven Juniper Mist Wired Assurance for automated insights and AI‑assisted network operations.
• Front‑to‑back airflow (AFO) optimized for rack cooling with redundant PSUs and fans.
