The Juniper MX80 Universal Edge Router is a compact yet powerful modular routing platform designed for enterprise WAN, data center interconnect (DCI), campus aggregation, small service provider edge, and branch aggregation use cases. Built on Juniper’s Junos OS, this router delivers a full suite of carrier‑grade routing capabilities, including advanced IP/MPLS, VRF/VRRP, multicast, BGP/OSPF, and SD‑WAN‑capable features — all within a space‑efficient 2 RU chassis optimized for environments with limited rack space and power constraints.
The MX80 comes with four integrated 10 GbE ports and two modular interface card (MIC) slots plus an MS‑MIC slot for dedicated service modules, offering flexible network expansion and “pay‑as‑you‑grow” scalability. This modular approach allows support for a mix of interface types — from high‑density Ethernet to specialized WAN and service cards — tailored to specific deployment needs.
