The Juniper MX480 Universal Routing Platform is a modular, carrier‑grade edge routing system designed for high‑performance service provider, cloud, enterprise, and data center networks. Powered by Junos OS and a programmable Juniper silicon architecture, the MX480 delivers up to 9 Tbps of routing capacity and is optimized for high‑speed IP/MPLS, broadband, VPN, and multiservice edge applications. Its modular chassis supports up to six line card slots for flexible deployment of Dense Port Concentrators (DPCs) or Modular Port Concentrators (MPCs), enabling a broad mix of 10, 25, 40, 100, and 400 GbE interfaces to meet evolving network demands. With field‑proven reliability, redundant Routing Engines and power supplies, advanced automation, deep packet inspection, and hardware‑based timing and synchronization features, the MX480 platform delivers resilient, scalable performance for mission‑critical networks.
