The Juniper MX304‑PREM is a compact yet powerful universal routing platform engineered for service provider, cloud, metro, and large enterprise edge environments. Built on Juniper’s programmable TRIO 6 chipset and running Junos OS, this 2 RU chassis delivers up to 4.8 Tbps system throughput while supporting a broad range of interface speeds including 10 GbE, 25 GbE, 40 GbE, 50 GbE, 100 GbE, and 400 GbE — making it versatile for modern multiservice and high‑growth networks.
The “PREM” variant includes dual redundant Routing Engines, dual hot‑swappable power supplies, and three fan trays for enhanced resilience and nonstop operation in demanding environments where uptime is critical. With modular line cards (LMICs) that can carry up to 12×400 GbE or 48×100 GbE interfaces, it enables flexible service capacity scaling without compromising performance. Its support for MACsec encryption and advanced automation capabilities makes it suitable for secure peering, data center gateway, metro aggregation, business edge, and IP‑VPN use cases.
