The Juniper MIC‑3D‑20GE‑SFP is a high‑density modular interface card (MIC) that provides 20× Gigabit Ethernet (1 Gbps) ports using SFP interfaces for flexible fiber or copper connectivity on compatible Juniper MX Series routers. Designed to be installed within a Modular Port Concentrator (MPC) on MX platforms, this module expands interface density while maintaining efficient performance and scalability. Each port supports full‑duplex Gigabit Ethernet with auto‑negotiation and allows the use of a wide array of SFP transceivers (sold separately) to tailor link medium and reach to the network design.
The MIC supports advanced routing and network services provided by Junos OS including VLANs, VRRP, RMON statistics, MAC learning, flexible Ethernet encapsulation, and optical diagnostics. With a compact modular form factor and high port density, this interface card is suitable for enterprise edge, metro aggregation, and service provider infrastructures requiring large numbers of efficiently managed Gigabit Ethernet connections.
