The Juniper EX4200-24F is a high-performance Layer 2/Layer 3 Ethernet switch designed for fiber-based access and aggregation deployments. It can be used in enterprise campuses, branch offices, and data centers. The EX4200-24F is part of the EX4200 Series and powered by Juniper Junos OS. As a result, it delivers reliable switching, advanced routing capabilities, and enterprise-grade resiliency in a compact 1 RU form factor.
This model features 24× 1000BASE-X SFP ports, enabling flexible fiber connectivity for long-distance links and high-performance uplinks. It is ideal for environments where copper is insufficient or fiber infrastructure is preferred. The switch typically includes a 320 W AC power supply and supports optional redundant PSU configurations for improved availability.
A key strength of the EX4200-24F is Virtual Chassis technology. This allows up to 10 switches to be interconnected and managed as a single logical device via a high-speed backplane (up to 128 Gbps). As a result, this simplifies operations. Moreover, it provides scalability and redundancy.
With a switching capacity of ~216 Gbps and forwarding performance of ~65 Mpps, the EX4200-24F is capable of handling enterprise traffic loads efficiently.
