Description
The ASUS DSL-AC88U Annex B (SKU: DSL-AC88U Annex B) is a high-performance dual-band VDSL/ADSL modem router designed for advanced home and SMB networking. It integrates DSL modem and wireless routing functions, while Annex B support ensures compatibility with ISDN-based DSL lines used in specific regions.
This device supports WiFi 5 (802.11ac) with combined speeds up to 3167 Mbps (AC3100 class). It uses 4×4 MIMO on both bands and NitroQAM (1024-QAM) technology. As a result, it increases throughput and improves efficiency for bandwidth-intensive applications such as 4K streaming and online gaming.
The router supports multiple broadband standards, including ADSL, ADSL2/2+, VDSL2, and G.fast. Therefore, it ensures compatibility with both legacy and next-generation DSL networks. In addition, it supports Ethernet WAN and optional 3G/4G USB connectivity. This enables flexible deployment and failover for continuous connectivity.
For wireless coverage, the DSL-AC88U Annex B uses a 4T4R antenna design with AiRadar beamforming. As a result, it improves signal strength, coverage range, and connection stability across multiple devices.
For wired connectivity, the router includes 4× Gigabit LAN ports and 1× Gigabit WAN port. It also provides USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 interfaces. These support storage sharing, printer sharing, and mobile broadband backup.
The device runs ASUSWRT firmware. It enables centralized management, QoS, VPN support, and advanced configuration. In addition, it includes AiProtection powered by Trend Micro, which enhances network security and parental controls.
The DSL-AC88U Annex B fits power users, gamers, and SMB environments that require DSL compatibility with high-performance wireless networking and flexible WAN options.
