The Juniper EX4650‑48Y‑AFI is a high‑performance, fixed configuration enterprise and campus distribution switch designed for modern access and aggregation networks. Powered by Juniper’s Junos OS, this 1 RU switch delivers rich Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features — including EVPN‑VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, and automation — with deep integration into Juniper Mist AI (Wired Assurance) for cloud‑driven insights, telemetry, and automated troubleshooting.
The EX4650‑48Y‑AFI features 48× multispeed SFP28 ports capable of 1/10/25 GbE speeds with compatible optics, providing flexible connectivity for servers, uplinks, and aggregation points. In addition, it includes 8× QSFP28 ports configurable as 40 GbE or 100 GbE (or broken out to 4× 25 GbE each) for high‑capacity backbone uplinks or fabric interconnects. The AFI airflow variant is engineered with front‑to‑back airflow and redundant hot‑swappable fans and power supplies, making it ideal for hot‑aisle/cold‑aisle rack environments typically found in data centers and wiring closets. Flexible extension modules such as 4×10 GbE or 4×25 GbE uplinks can be deployed in the QSFP ports to tailor connectivity to specific network topologies.
