The Ubiquiti EdgePoint EP-R8 is a ruggedized, outdoor-rated managed switching platform designed for WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) and outdoor network deployments. It belongs to the EdgePoint series and is engineered to provide reliable aggregation and power delivery for remote tower, pole, and outdoor cabinet installations.

The EP-R8 features multiple Gigabit Ethernet ports for data and power delivery to connected devices such as wireless radios and CPE equipment. It also includes an SFP uplink for fiber backhaul connectivity, enabling flexible integration into metro or long-distance network infrastructures.

Built for harsh environments, the device supports outdoor deployment with a weather-resistant enclosure and is designed for passive cooling operation. It also supports redundant DC power input for increased reliability in mission-critical installations.

Managed through Ubiquiti’s UISP platform, the EP-R8 enables centralized monitoring, configuration, and provisioning of distributed outdoor networks, making it suitable for ISP edge and wireless backhaul applications.
