Juniper EX4200-24F 24-Port 1000BASE-X SFP Fiber Ethernet Switch with Virtual Chassis
Juniper EX4200-24F 24-port SFP fiber switch with Virtual Chassis, 216 Gbps performance, Layer 2/3 features, and Junos OS — ideal for enterprise fiber access and aggregation networks.
- Description
Description
The Juniper EX4200-24F is a high-performance Layer 2/Layer 3 Ethernet switch designed for fiber-based access and aggregation deployments in enterprise campuses, branch offices, and data centers. Part of the EX4200 Series and powered by Juniper Junos OS, it delivers reliable switching, advanced routing capabilities, and enterprise-grade resiliency in a compact 1 RU form factor.
This model features 24× 1000BASE-X SFP ports, enabling flexible fiber connectivity for long-distance links and high-performance uplinks. It is ideal for environments where copper is insufficient or fiber infrastructure is preferred. The switch typically includes a 320 W AC power supply and supports optional redundant PSU configurations for improved availability.
A key strength of the EX4200-24F is Virtual Chassis technology, allowing up to 10 switches to be interconnected and managed as a single logical device via a high-speed backplane (up to 128 Gbps). This simplifies operations while providing scalability and redundancy.
With a switching capacity of ~216 Gbps and forwarding performance of ~65 Mpps, the EX4200-24F is capable of handling enterprise traffic loads efficiently. It supports advanced networking features such as VLANs, QoS, ACLs, and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP, making it suitable for both access and aggregation roles.
Key Features:
• 24× 1 GbE SFP (1000BASE-X) fiber ports for high-distance connectivity.
• Virtual Chassis support (up to 10 switches) for scalability and simplified management.
• Layer 2/Layer 3 features including VLANs, QoS, ACLs, OSPF, and BGP.
• 216 Gbps switching capacity and 65 Mpps forwarding rate for enterprise performance.
• Redundant power supply support and hot-swappable components for high availability.
• Compact 1 RU form factor suitable for rack deployments in campus or data center environments.
