The QSFP-100GBASE-LR4 is a high-performance QSFP28 optical transceiver module designed for 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) connectivity over single-mode fiber (SMF). It complies with the IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-LR4 standard and QSFP28 Multi-Source Agreement (MSA), enabling reliable long-distance data transmission in modern high-speed networks.
Operating at LAN-WDM wavelengths (typically around 1295–1310 nm), the module multiplexes four 25 Gbps optical lanes into a single 100 Gbps data stream. It supports transmission distances of up to 10 km over SMF using a duplex LC connector, making it ideal for interconnecting data centers, campus cores, and metro networks.
The QSFP-100GBASE-LR4 also includes Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM/DDM) functionality, allowing real-time monitoring of parameters such as temperature, voltage, and optical power levels. Its hot-pluggable QSFP28 form factor ensures easy deployment and replacement without interrupting network operations.
