The Juniper Networks MPC4E-3D-32XGE-SFPP is a high-density Modular Port Concentrator (MPC) engineered for Juniper MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers, delivering scalable 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for service provider, enterprise, and data center edge environments.
Built on Juniper’s 3D architecture, the MPC4E integrates packet forwarding engines directly on the card, enabling efficient processing of Layer 2, Layer 3, and MPLS traffic. It supports advanced services such as hierarchical QoS (H-QoS), IPv4/IPv6 routing, and carrier Ethernet features, making it ideal for broadband edge, mobile backhaul, and enterprise WAN deployments.
The module supports WAN-PHY mode on a per-port basis and jumbo frames up to 9,500 bytes (depending on Junos OS version), ensuring compatibility with diverse transport environments.
Compatible with a wide range of MX platforms—including MX240, MX480, MX960, MX2010, and MX2020—the MPC4E-3D-32XGE-SFPP allows service providers to scale capacity efficiently with a “pay-as-you-grow” approach.
