Description

N9K-C9504 – Cisco Nexus 9000 Series

N9K-C9504 is a Nexus 9504 chassis with 9 line card slots.  The Cisco Nexus 9500 platform, which is part of the Nexus 9000 series, provides three modular options: Cisco Nexus 9504 with 4 slots, Cisco Nexus 9508 with 8 slots, and Cisco Nexus 9516 with 16 slots switch.  All three switches use the same manager, system controller, power supply and line cards.  The Cisco Nexus 9500 platform consists of Layer 2 and Layer 3 non-blocking Ethernet switches with a maximum backplane bandwidth of 115.  2 megabits per second (Tbps).

Improve execution and effectiveness with the Cisco Nexus 9504 switch. It gives high-thickness 1/10/40 GE in a conservative 7-rack-unit particular case. This flexible particular switch is intended for high-thickness, end-of-line, and superior conglomeration layer organizations in both customary and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)- empowered server farms.

The Cisco Nexus 9500 series is a series of modular switches that provide industry-leading high-performance, high-density and low-latency 1, 10, 40, and future 100 Gigabit Ethernet connections.  Nexus 9500 series switches can operate in application-centric infrastructure (ACI) mode and traditional NX-OS mode.  When operating in ACI mode, the Nexus 9500 series switches form the basis for a fully integrated and automated network structure solution driven by the application network profile to transform the ACI architecture.

When running in the classic NX-OS mode, the Nexus 9500 series switches are the first switches in their class, enabling highly scalable and high-performance data center access and aggregation layers, as well as enhanced automation and programmability.  This white paper focuses on the general hardware architecture of the Nexus 9500 series switches and the implementation of packet forwarding in the classic NX-OS mode.
