The Juniper QFX5110‑48S is a high‑performance, low‑latency Ethernet switch engineered for data center leaf/top‑of‑rack deployments and campus aggregation where scalable, standards‑based networking is required. Powered by Juniper’s Junos OS, this fixed 1 RU platform supports rich Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, advanced automation, and modern overlay networking such as EVPN‑VXLAN, making it suitable for next‑generation fabrics and hybrid cloud environments.

The QFX5110‑48S features 48 SFP+ ports that can operate at 1 GbE or 10 GbE depending on optics installed, with comprehensive support for SFP/SFP+ optical and DAC/AOC cable types. It also includes 4 QSFP28 ports that are configurable as 40 GbE or 100 GbE uplinks, or can be broken out into multiple 10 GbE links via breakout cables, offering flexible scaling from access to aggregation tiers. With up to 1.76 Tbps of bidirectional switching capacity and very low latency (~550 ns), the switch handles demanding east‑west traffic patterns common in modern data center and enterprise network topologies.

Integrated redundancy features such as dual hot‑swappable power supplies and fans—together with flexible airflow options (air‑in or air‑out)—ensure operational resiliency in rack environments.
