The Cisco SFP-25G-SR-S is a high-performance 25 Gigabit Ethernet SFP28 transceiver module designed for short-range data transmission over multimode fiber (MMF). Built to support 25GBASE-SR standards, this module enables reliable high-speed connectivity in enterprise networks, data centers, and aggregation environments.
Operating at an 850 nm wavelength using VCSEL laser technology, the module supports distances of up to 70 m on OM3 fiber and 100 m on OM4 fiber, making it ideal for short-distance, high-bandwidth links between switches, servers, and storage systems. It features a duplex LC connector and supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM/DDM) for real-time visibility into optical parameters such as temperature, voltage, and transmit/receive power.
The hot-swappable SFP28 form factor allows seamless installation and replacement without interrupting network operations. With low power consumption (approximately 1.2 W), the module is optimized for high-density deployments. It is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3by 25GBASE-SR standards and is widely compatible with Cisco platforms that support SFP28 interfaces.
