Description

The Aironet 1250 Series Access Point with one RM1252 radio module installed requires 12.95 W, which is within the 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard. Any Cisco switch supporting 802.3af could also be wont to power the Aironet 1250 Series Access Point with one RM1252 radio module installed. this is often ideal for businesses that chose to only deploy on one frequency (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). one radio provides optimum performance with approximately 300 Mbps maximum PHY rate .

Customers who deploy dual-band, 802.11n radios and power the 1250 Series using standard 802.3af will have more reliable and predictable coverage than that provided by traditional 802.11a/g networks; however, operation are going to be limited to one transmitter per radio with maximum PHY data rates of 150 Mb/s rather than 300 Mb/s per radio. Users with a big investment in 802.11 a/b/g client devices that have low-to-medium bandwidth needs but high-reliability requirements will benefit the foremost from this sort of deployment scenario.

Cisco AIR-LAP1242G-A-K9 Enhanced PoE was designed for users who want to put in new PoE-enabled technologies that need greater than 15.4 W per port to function at full capability, like wireless technology supported the IEEE 802.11n standard. Cisco Enhanced PoE provides the complete power requirements for dual-radio modules and eliminates the necessity to run a further cabling drop or insert a separate power injector. Support for Enhanced PoE is currently available on a spread of Cisco Catalyst switching platforms.
